Intensives offer a focused, high-impact format for individuals or couples navigating critical moments that require immediate and in-depth solutions.
Conducted over one to three days, these sessions are thoughtfully structured to move beyond surface dynamics and into the underlying patterns shaping behavior, conflict, and decision-making. Drawing from evidence-based practices, including years of teaching and practicing sexual health and vitality, her approach is both practical and deeply integrative.
Intensives provide a contained space to stabilize emotional reactivity, clarify priorities, and develop a coherent path forward. Each intensive is tailored, with preparatory consultation and follow-up integration to support sustained change. The emphasis is on precision, harmony, and meaningful movement within a discreet and professionally guided environment.
Dr Sheehan offers intensives to individuals, couples, and families.
Sexual Connection & Intimacy Intensives
Sex therapy intensives provide a private, focused space for individuals and couples seeking deeper understanding, healing, and reconnection around intimacy, desire, sexuality, and emotional closeness. These immersive formats allow time to move beyond surface-level conversations and thoughtfully address the emotional, relational, physiological, and nervous-system dynamics that often shape sexual well-being.
Intensives are tailored to the unique history, goals, and comfort level of each client or couple. Work may explore desire discrepancy, low desire, intimacy avoidance, sexual shutdown, communication difficulties, betrayal or rupture, body image concerns, aging and sexuality, life transitions, performance anxiety, sexual trauma, relational resentment, or the impact of stress and high-conflict dynamics on erotic connection.
The process integrates relational therapy, attachment-based work, nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, communication restructuring, and experiential exercises designed to foster safety, curiosity, emotional openness, and sustainable intimacy. Particular care is taken to create an environment that is warm, respectful, psychologically sophisticated, and free from shame.
Intensives may include:
Extended couples sessions
Individual sexual wellness consultation
Guided communication and relational exercises
Sensate and embodied connection practices
Emotional regulation and co-regulation work
Psychoeducation around desire, attachment, and arousal
Support for rebuilding trust, emotional safety, and erotic connection
Tailored take-home practices and integration planning
Offerings are available virtually, at the convenience of clients in their home or preferred location, or may be thoughtfully arranged in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for those seeking a more restorative and private setting conducive to reflection, reconnection, and meaningful relational change.
